At Shine, you’ll find shared meals, weekly recovery circles, peer support, and people who understand the road you’re on. Whether you’re newly sober, years in, or just considering a change, there’s a seat for you here.

What is a recovery cafe?
A recovery cafe is a free, drug- and alcohol-free community space where people in recovery find belonging, peer support, and structure. It's not a treatment center or clinic. Shine offers recovery circles, classes, shared meals, and a place to simply be welcomed exactly as you are.
Who can come to Shine Recovery Cafe?
Anyone in recovery, considering recovery, returning to recovery, or supporting someone they love through it. There's no cost, no referral required, and no wrong door. We serve Crown Point and all of Northwest Indiana, including Merrillville, Gary, Hobart, Schererville, and the surrounding Lake County communities.
Does it cost anything to join?
No. Shine Recovery Cafe is free. Membership simply means committing to three things: staying drug- and alcohol-free while at the cafe, giving back through acts of service, and attending a weekly recovery circle.
